Back to America

So here we are, on a plane, heading back to America. We’re sleep deprived, sentimental, and demonstrating why we are the “Hangovers.”

Since our last post we’ve had two performances - one for the Cornell Hotel Society and one for the Savage Club. Both of these were fantastic and we absolutely could not have asked for a better way to end our tour. The Savage Club showed us an extraordinary time, and provided us with the best of services. Sadly, we could not stay until 6:00am, even though most of us wanted to.

Alas, our vacation has come to an end. We cringe at the thought of how little time we have to sleep in the upcoming month, and embrace it at the same time. It’s time to go back to the work filled life of a Cornell student.

Happy Birthday, Joel

At the Hangovers, we constantly try to improve and outdo ourselves. So, we thought, what’s more fun than taking a 5:30am bus? A 4:30am bus. After staying out until somewhere between 3:30 and 4:00, we just didn’t sleep. Needless to say, we’re tired and cranky. But on the bright side, Joel is up and pumped for his birthday!

Glasgow

Glasgow is honestly one of the most amazing cities we’ve seen. We had fantastic hosts that brought us around and showed us a great time. After some impromptu street singing to advertise our concert, we visited our venue. The Glasgow cathedral was unreal. We’ll put up a photo album later because there really are no words that can express it’s magnificence. Our concert went really well and we sounded great - off to the pubs!

We Made It

With 1 minute left, we made it through security and on our way to Scotland. After missing a few trains and two busses, we got there just in time. It was triumphant! Upon our arrival to Scotland, we couldn’t think of anything else to do but go to a pub - finally a chance to relax. While in Scotland, we couldn’t pass the opportunity to visit Loch Lomond - a song that means so much to us and so much to the Scottish people. It was truly fantastic and a very emotional experience for the group.

Traveling to Scotland

What a morning! We had an early departure from our Hostel at 5:00 am only to realize that the subway system doesn’t open up until 5:30 am. Oops! Instead of sleeping on the subway until we reached our bus stop to then get over to the airport, we had an impromptu Hangovers jog session. There’s really nothing like a brisk run through the streets of London at 5:00 in the morning. Well... hopefully we make our flight!

Free Day

After a whirlwind of activity, we couldn't wait to finally relax and do some sightseeing. The day started out with a visit to The Tower of London with a brief outburst of song.

Did you know the weight of a cannonball is 138kg? We toured the Tower, and then went shopping in the Piccadilly Circus. The Tower was more of a castle and the circus was more of a stretch of shops. How confusing, London! What better way to end our day then a group dinner?

American Invasion

Our first two days in England were quite the success. We met up with All the King’s Men from King’s College who really knew how to show us a good time. After our flight, we couldn’t wait to stretch our legs and explore London. Our hosts were incredible! They showed us around, brought us to pubs, and threw a really terrific concert.

A Long, Long Day

Well, we’re off folks - off on an epic journey across the vast ocean to England. But first! But first a stop on a much smaller island off the coast of New York. That’s right folks, you guessed it, Long Island! We couldn’t wait to perform for the magnificent students of Elwood John H. Glenn HIgh School.

Here’s a photo of the outside!

After that we went on a quick journey to the center of the universe - New York City that is. The weight of our journey was outstanding. We ventured to the Cornell Club to warm the hearts of alumni! It was quite spectacular and a great start to tour.
